The Challenge
As the holiday season approached, beauty brands were competing for attention across increasingly crowded social channels. To stand out, Ulta Beauty needed an ownable platform that would differentiate the brand from competitors and establish a distinctive presence ahead of the holiday shopping period. The opportunity was to move beyond traditional advertising and create a first-of-its-kind social and creator program with TikTok that would spark cultural relevance, drive conversation, and position Ulta at the center of beauty discovery and inspiration during one of the most important retail moments of the year.
The Approach
Partnered with TikTok to create a first-of-its-kind Beauty Month program that positioned Ulta Beauty at the center of one of the platform's largest beauty initiatives. The campaign combined new ad placements, creator partnerships, custom song development, and an experiential activation into a unified ecosystem designed to drive participation throughout the month. Anchored by an exclusive creator experience in New York City, the program brought top beauty creators together to create content and share their Beauty Month discoveries with their audiences in real time. The campaign extended beyond the event through a high-impact New York City billboard takeover and a custom Beauty Month sound track designed to inspire creator participation and fuel user-generated content across TikTok. Together, these elements amplified visibility, encouraged organic engagement, and helped position Ulta at the center of the Beauty Month conversation both on and off the platform.
